I’ve been pouring a lot of time and energy into my novel, and while it’s still untitled, I’m thrilled with how this work in progress novel is coming together. The story follows Jack Griffeon, a decorated military veteran pulled into a shadowy organization’s hunt for a time-travel artifact. It’s a mix of action, suspense, and mystery — with plenty of unexpected twists along the way.

First Look at Concept Covers

Every great thriller starts with a story, but the visual identity matters too. Recently, I worked on a set of concept cover designs to explore how the book might look when it finally hits shelves. These covers are still early ideas, and I used AI to help get me started, but they help capture the mood and tone — dark, suspenseful, and full of tension.

I’d love to know what you think. Which cover stands out most to you? Your feedback could help shape the direction of the final design.

Sneak Peek Excerpt

Today, I’m excited to share a sneak peek book excerpt. As this is a work in progress, details may evolve as the story develops. This excerpt is actually pretty deep in the story, our heroes are investigating an ancient cenote near a volcano near the border of Mexico and Guatemala.

Byron glanced up at the walls, shadows flickering in the lantern glow. “Feels like this place is watching us.”

Jack was taken aback by Byron’s comment. Never being the man to show any unease, his gaze was steady, hard. “Maybe it is.”

They worked faster, but the silence pressed closer, broken only by the sound of their breathing and the drip of unseen water. Whatever had followed them—if anything had—waited at the edge of the dark. And time, Jack knew, was running out.

When at last they began easing their way back from the library’s heart, the air felt heavier, as though the chamber itself didn’t want to let them go. Jack’s unease had only deepened. Each step felt like it echoed too long, like someone else was matching his pace just out of sight.

He didn’t see it—but something saw him. High in the shadows of the vaulted ceiling, where roots and rot hung like damp curtains, a pair of pale eyes watched from the dark. Whether they belonged to some ancient guardian of the texts or to one of Kain’s hunters, he couldn’t tell. The weight of that gaze pressed between his shoulder blades, cold and sure.

They gathered their notes quickly, tucking sketches and scroll rubbings into their packs. Without a word, they turned back toward the tunnel. The climb ahead loomed in Jack’s mind: slick limestone, cold mist, the jungle waiting above.

He tightened the strap on his pack and forced himself forward. Something was watching—he felt it in his bones—but whether it was a god, a ghost, or one of Kain’s goons, he couldn’t yet say.

Why Share a Sneak Peek?

I want to give readers a chance to experience the tone and suspense of the book before it’s finished. Sharing thriller novel excerpts not only shows the atmosphere I’m building but also lets you follow along as the story develops.

This is just a small slice of what’s to come, but I’m excited to keep sharing the journey as the book evolves. Stay tuned for more thriller sneak peeks, character reveals, and writing updates — and maybe even the title reveal.
